The Florence Crittenton League of Lowell, incorporated in 1907, is a non-profit, non-sectarian social service agency offering information, support and professional services to young pregnant women, their families, and potential adoptive parents.

Our Staff
Ilze Keegan
Ilze Keegan has worked for FCL since l98l and has been Executive Director since l989. Ilze earned her MSW from Boston University. Her previous work was with a family service agency and with a school for special needs children. Ilze was born in Latvia and came to the U.S. as a refugee after World War II, growing up in New Hampshire. She and her husband Larry have two grown sons. Ilze says that becoming a parent made her much more humble as a social worker dealing with other parents. Her goal is to keep FCL a friendly, personal agency that advocates for children. Her hobbies include knitting, quilting and folk music. Ilze is also a grandmother and has three granddaughters. |
Dr. Robert Jolley
Dr. Robert Jolley has been our consultant for over 20 years. He is recently retired from being a social work professor at the University of New Hampshire. Bob has his doctorate in social work from Smith College. He adopted two children from Colombia through our agency, both are young adults now, and he has two grandsons. In 2007-2008 Bob has been a Fullbright professor in Latvia. |
Yige Wang
Yige Wang is our consultant for China. Yige travels to China to see his family, and has visited the China Center for Adoption Affairs in Beijing for our agency. Yige calls China for us, and helps out if adoptive parents have difficulties while in China. He has worked for the agency for many years. Yige is married with two children. |
Karen Greenberg Karen is an experienced and accomplished attorney, having concentrated in family law matters for more than twenty years. She regularly represents adoption agencies, adopters and birth parents in all aspects of adoption law. Karen employs both litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, such as mediation practice. A frequent lecturer and author on adoption related issues. Karen is presently collaborating in a redrafting of the Massachusetts adoption statues. A founding member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, she was elected to its Board of Directors in 2004. The Academy works to promote the reform of adoption laws, and disseminates information on ethical adoption practices. Karen was also recently re-elected to the Board of Directors of ODS Adoption Community of New England, Inc., a non-profit organization providing educational and support services to anyone touched by adoption. Karen, an adoptive parent, is a graduate of Boston University and holds a Master's degree from Wheelock College. She graduarted, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1983 and formed Konowitz & Greenberg in 1988.
